Collared Dove
Didn’t venture out today apart from a quick dash to Tesco’s for my parents, as the weather has been wet and dull. Spent a good part of the day watching the feeders in case the lesser whitethroat returned. It didn’t!
Apparently it turns out that yesterday’s bird was the latest confirmed sighting of a lesser whitethroat in Cheshire by a number of weeks. Until now the latest one has been seen had been mid-October. How lucky was I?
Nothing much today apart from a load of pigeons and chaffinches, some flitting coal tits, numerous blackbirds and a few collared doves. I always find them a nice distraction from the usual pigeons that swamp the feeders when I put out fresh food.
