On a very wet day...
... I quite often head up the road to Knaresborough for a photo, mainly because some of the cobbled streets with old buildings photograph well in the rain.
Today I decided to photograph the statue of Old Mother Shipton in the Market Square. The sculpture was created by Christopher Kelly from Harrogate and installed just over three years ago. I thought it looked good in the rain.
Mother Shipton, the legendary soothsayer and prophetess, born Ursula Southeil, lived in Knaresborough c1488-1561.
My extra was taken close-by of a potential customer braving the rain to examine the contents of a jeweller's window.
