On (now Off) The Grapevine
A few years ago we got a couple of cuttings from a friend's grape vine. He makes gallons of very acceptable wine every year, and we looked forward to doing likewise.
We even planted them in a polytunnel, realising that it's a lot colder here than down in Worcestershire where he lives.
So far, they have produced a few bunches of tiny black grapes, and we've made some jelly with them. But it will be a long time before we have enough to start treading ...
Today I noticed that the leaves have dropped, and turned a wonderful variety of shades of purple, red, pink, gold and orange. So it's not entirely a wasted effort.
