About to turn

Nostalgia

Nighttime drive to Herndon, a town half an hour away where we lived when our kids were very little. We needed to return a book to the Fairfax County library system, but it was really an excuse to walk around familiar streets we hadn't visited in quite awhile. Nice to see some of the same businesses still there, as well as quite a few new houses. Herndon is along the old Washington & Old Dominion RR line, now a pathway, and there's an overhead section here above the houses.

Cold and blustery today. This morning Cousin Shelley texted that it was lovely out and we needed to walk. Glad I donned the winter coat. Later I had an MRI appointment; hadn't had one in years, and it was interesting to see the changes. Zoned out and was nearly asleep by the end.

Daughter I. squeaked under the midnight deadline for her second college application, asking for last-minute help chopping words. She had four short answer questions of 120 words maximum. Got it done, clicked Submit, and enjoyed the virtual confetti!
