Sequoia sempervirens
Polmaise estate, like many estates in Scotland holds many C19th collected specimens and their progeny - redwoods, wellingtonia, lawsonia as well as the wide selection of pine, oaks, beech, elm, hazel, Douglas fir and yews and the birch, sycamore, ash, larch, spruce and other ‘weeds’ (the downside of years working with ‘real’ foresters!).... A little messy these days and over mature as well as unmanaged regeneration....but the sequoia is a quiet joy.
