Bless Me, Ultima

Public art mural by Madeline Mackenzie, 2020.  Inspired by Rudolpho Anaya's novel of the same name, Bless Me, Ultima (scroll down on link for the intro and further down to read the book's beginning.  

It's a wonderful book (so good, I read it twice several years apart). if you are interested in curanderas (New Mexico women healers, sha-women, who use local herbs and plants), magical thinking, OR you just want a taste of rural life in NM in the early 1900s.
