Oh-oh...

Big construction/destruction building activity today. If you are following the Winterfinch bathroom saga you will remember that the doors have ben removed and the walls widened in my little home. Also, the main event, namely the installation of a special shower for wheelchair access is forthcoming. The workers discovered that they cannot put in the shower which is essentially open with a 1/2" ( 3.8 cm) lip to keep water in. The floor is not level and it would all run out across the floor. So, unexpected additional work... they have to tear up the entire floor, down to the joists to shim it until it is level. then they will put on the sub-flooring and new floor and the nice new vinyl that I've already picked out.
Okay, that is just to bring you up to date. for today's unusual blip. When in the process of removing the old door and and getting the new, highly attractive sliding panel door ready to slide into its pocket... oops! The last mirrored panel of the three hinged mirrors got hit with something and broke. Not an inexpensive error. ..
Those are my fingers pointing to the chip.
(And, no, I have not forgotten the monstrous dress photo. Wee are working on repairing it to be wearable by a normal human being. Soon...)
Oh, and the final disaster of the day. Not for me but for Gracie T-t... the shower was entirely removed. I mean her shower disappeared. I was out at the time (working on the dress situation) When they left for the day they just slid the new lovely door closed. When I got home much later and the cats came out from their hiding holes It was amusing to see GT-t's astonishment. The tools are piled there where the shower floor, walls, drain and water sprinkler all the favorite parts of her shower had vanished! And she was thirsty. So, she leapt up into the sink and I turned on a tickle of her cold favorite water.
The should floor is being specially made and will not arrive here for another week and a half. We are now settling into the tough phases of living through in-house construction.
