Totoro

Today the surprise I bought for the baby arrived. It was a huge Totoro that I ordered a few weeks ago.

Totoro is a character from the Studio Ghibli movie 'My Neighbor Totoro' which Acronymphomania and I bonded over early in our relationship. Mainly because it was honestly one of the weirdest films either of us had ever seen (it involves a cat that's also a bus...yeah...) and has been a bit of an in joke ever since. I think A has talked about Ghibli films before and how we consider the characters to be much better role models than in Disney movies. I think I'd rather our daughter grew up looking to Sen, Sophie and Satsuki than some of the Disney Princesses who are constantly being rescued. ;)
