Green Hope

How wonderful it is to have a growing hope of things to come.

The season of Advent began today, and as a child I remember the excitement that surrounded the beginning of the countdown to Christmas. There were those colorful little doors to open on the calendar, and the intriguing messages that hid behind them. My young creative mind had no problem embellishing the snippets into full fledged stories of grandeur. It was a warm family time, a happy and sugary season, and now a reminder of what ‘Green Hope’ was like in an innocent boy’s mind.
