Quod oculus meus videt

Plant Britain

It seems somehow appropriate that my photograph should be of a tree today.  On the Chase it was dense fog and this is always a good time to capture the trees, particularly in wooded sections, as the conditions help to isolate the subject from the busy background.  It is mainly the oak trees that have retained some leaves and while they aren't the most colourful of autumn foliage, they still provide a focal point.

Countryfile on the BBC launched their new initiative called 'Plant Britain', encouraging the planting of 750,000 trees, one for every primary  school starter in the UK in 2020.  It is the start of an ambitious two-year project to help reduce the impact of climate change, to help wildlife and our own wellbeing.  So it seemed quite appropriate to have a tree in today's blip
