Christmas Pollyanna

A few years back, our large family decided to start a Christmas Pollyanna - just one relative, one big present to buy. It was financially smart for younger grandkids, nieces & nephews AND aging parents & aunts, haha.
My sister even supplies the paper so that each slip matches by size and folds - no cheating please.
We write our name and our three ‘wish list’ suggestions on a slip of paper that is folded and placed in a bowl - at Thanksgiving - and wallah, a name is drawn and “successful” secret shopping begins (for one of the items! - hence there’s still an element of surprise when the gift is opened !)
We also purchase and gaily wrap a uni-sex (true-surprise) item. It’s always fun as we play the white-elephant exchange. When it’s your turn, you can chose to grab a favorite from what’s already been opened, directly from someone else’s hands !! A good loving time all around.
