Park Life 9: Norfolk Park

What a difference a day makes! Today was cold and gloomy. I went into town and had an hour or so in this park, which is one of the closest to the city centre. I saw (and heard) a great spotted woodpecker drumming, and a surprising number of jays out in the open. There were also plenty of squirrels dashing about looking for their stashes. It was this wren, however, which led me a merry dance. Considering they are the most common bird in the uk, they are surprisingly difficult to spot, or at least get a good view of. I must have spent a good half hour watching this one skulking about in the undergrowth, and trying to get a half decent shot. In the end, this was the best I could come up with. Disappointed not to have got the lovely speckly body plumage and that cheeky tail.
I am enjoying this theme, as I haven't got any deadlines to meet and no real constraints. I'd like to get a different kind of creature in each of the 93 parks or open spaces but I'm not even going to hold myself to that.
