There is still a bit of color in the yard.  The maple has lost all its leaves but the dogwoods and viburnum are still hanging on and displaying lovely shades of red.  

Major frustration in the air here today as our patio heater has finally arrived.  "Not a lot of parts...so this won't take long" have become famous last words. My husband has been putting it together now for over 3 hours. He started a little late so ultimately needed me outside helping him in my winter coat and holding a flashlight. Being one to not let this get the best of him, he is determined to get it operating tonight...even though I have suggested it could easily wait until tomorrow.  

The directions are appallingly inadequate and it is clear that the very few words were written by someone for whom English was not their first language and the drawings could have been done better by a 5-year-old.  Stay tuned.
