Pub Quiz

I do a pub quiz virtually once a week. This week was a decent score.

Part way through the quiz jockey Jay always poses so people can take their selfies with him for social media.

Since March I’ve never been bothered with a selfie but I thought why not! He does lots of charity work during the quiz (often Lifeboats/ Air Ambulance) and very recently he was made an MBE in recognition of his work during lockdown, he’s from Lancashire so definitely deserves a mention :-)

I couldn’t manage a selfie in the end as we have automated lights in the front room which wouldn’t shine bright enough so MrH took this one for me. It’s certainly of the moment.

MrH just flew back from Milan and was up at 3am so I suspect he may be much more tired than he feels. He’s had to have multiple Covid tests as part of the travel.

He did guess the tie breaker question tonight, asking what was half of the circumference world. Managing pretty well (63 mikes short). He is blessed with a particular set of skills that means he’s very good with facts when he tries to memorise them. If he put effort into being the next Chaser I’m sure he’d make himself a fortune.

Tonight Jay (Quizmaster) mentioned the Superman song from Black Lace - a primary school staple disco dance in the 1980s! There are videos on You Tube if you have no idea what I am talking about! It’s a simple follow the leader action song. Even when I was a primary school teacher in the mid 1990s I used to dance with my 8-9 year old class to this song and they loved the silliness of it. Lovely to be reminded about it.

Very foggy all day which was consistently so. Lots of bits of sorting during the day. Still lots to do but feel like I’ve made progress.

I made Rat deterrent spray made using peppermint and chilli- it’s been applied to the rat run areas outside and the concrete walkway so fingers crossed it works.

I bought a few Black Friday /Cyber Monday deals- mainly vitamin supplements, bath bombs and a T-shirt and sparkly legging for Christmas- casual sparkle!!!
