Tea time
Lockdown 2.0 - Day 24
We had a special delivery last night, from Mr A’s sister, Laura.
She very kindly called at my Preston practice to collect a gift they’d got for me (I’ll blip that another day) and decided while she was coming over, she would bring us a little treat from the ‘greasy spoon’.
I feel so sorry for her, that the coffee & gift shop she opened in February has only had 20 weeks of trading this year due to multiple lockdowns, but similarly proud that despite it all, her and her business partner have overcome obstacles to try and still make a living.
They’ve been able to offer gifts for sale online (with local doorstep delivery or social distanced collection) plus takeaway food boxes.
The one on my blip is the afternoon tea box and all that food is just for one! There’s a little pot of homemade soup, a BLT, cheese, chutney & biscuits, fresh fruit, pork pie, a lemon posset and various other little cakey treats.
Mr A is chuffed that he gets a night off from cooking and we are both grateful for the kind gesture.
I woke up a few nights ago craving a scone with jam & cream, so this will certainly hit the spot tonight! :-)
