Four horsewomen, and me (Day 2029)
Daylight is in short supply at this time of the year in Orkney, and I have managed to make use of all of it.
The first light of the day was painting the sky pink, red and gold this morning as I took the woofers up the hill (extra) and it felt like the weather would be reasonable for the day.
After breakfast, my beautiful wife and I headed to Stromness to collect stuff from our old barn. The view across to Hoy was well worth a quick snap (extra). Along to the yard, where we found all the hosses had brought themselves in from the field and were lined up on the hard standing munching hay. We met up with Amy at the yard, and shortly afterwards, Leanne arrived with Bessie. A little while later Jayne showed up and we all headed out on the horses. It was really grand to be out in a big group, especially in such fantastic weather.
By the time we left the yard to head home to get the dogs out, the shadows were lengthening as the sun started to set. The view from the Lyde Road was fantastic today (extra).
It has been a grand day.
