Youth

This wonderful piece, called Youth, was sculpted in 1920 and the model was AW Lawrence who was the brother of TE Lawrence ("of Arabia" fame). AW went on to be Laurence Professor of Classical Archaeology at Cambridge University before heading to Ghana where he founded museums and so forth. The artist who created this was Kathleen Scott wife of Robert Scott ("of the Antarctic") which might explain why it's outside the Scott Polar Research Institute in Cambridge; she also did the bust of her husband which sits above the entrance.
