Curlews

No real walk today, just a short one up to Muddisdale. About twenty curlews were feeding in a field, two hares were too far for a picture and the speediest bird eluded me. Just on the edge of town on grass by a footpath a jack snipe popped up- over the fence and dropped about four metres away into cover. Far too fast to photo but I was happy to see one in an urban site.
