the heart of the matter

A lovely phone conversation with Sarah this morning made me feel 10x better.

Then a sunshiny 3 mile walk around the fields and woods.

Finally a bit of painting. I’ve been missing Inktober but not had the impetus to continue. So today I cut a big piece of watercolour paper up into small (6x6cm) squares and I’m challenging myself to do a tiny artwork everyday. Today it was a watercolour inspired by a colourful stone which Joanna gave me. It’s a start.

I painted while listening to an interview with Mary Oliver, which is always inspiring. Lovely to hear her ear her poem « The Summer’s Day »

This marigold « Indian Prince » from seeds Sarah gave me, is still flowering in our garden!
