Decision time...
Still quite a bit to do before we're ready to paint in the hall, but when the time comes we need to have decided on colours. The colour chart is on top of the bookshelf in the hall so we can see the different shades as the light changes throughout the day, and as yet we're nowhere near a decision! Most of the walls are covered in wooden boards, and MrM thinks it gives the space a 'Scandinavian look'. He's keen on Swedish Blue. Left to myself, I'd probably go for Etruscan Red. Match pots here we come...
Watch this space!
So, when lockdown ends next week we'll be in 'Tier 3' in our sparsely populated corner of the universe, lumped together with Newcastle and Gateshead. Not so different from full lockdown really. But it's OK, Boris seems to be under the impression that the virus will take a holiday over the Christmas period, so he's allowing us to get together with family for a few days. Though, apparently, he's warned us to be "Jolly Careful" during the festivities!
Er, maybe not. Under normal circumstances, Tom and Lucy would be winging their way north by train just after Christmas, for a few days' home cooking, beach walks, and relaxation. Much as it breaks my heart to think that it may be another 4 or 5 months before we can meet again, we'll wait for a proper celebration in the spring or early summer, when we can risk hugging each other! We've all been as careful as possible to avoid the virus so far, and it seems pointless blowing it now...
