Frosty waxcap
Another eight mile morning walk with the spaniel. Today we walked a bit of the Oxfordshire Way through the Stonor Valley. It was minus 2 when we set off and there was still quite a lot of frost on the ground when we stopped at the wonderful 11th century Pishill church after an hour or so. The church has an interesting stained glass window by John Piper who lived nearby but my attention was drawn to the large number of frost encrusted Snowy Waxcaps in the churchyard.
