Best picnic viewpoint ever!

We drove up to Honister...walked steeply up the old tramway...past the bothy at Dubbs Quarry...crossed the beck, then on to Green Crag where this classic photo of Buttermere and Crummock Water was taken from.

What a viewpoint for our picnic lunch!

On to Blackbeck Tarn, with fine views of Great Gable!

Return to Honister Slate Mine...3 and a half hours. A grand walk!
