New One for Me
Spotted in the grass at the DogPark...A Black-tailed red sheetweaver, aka Red grass spider Florinda coccinea, a species of Money spiders. I've seen their beautiful little webs before but never the tiny (3-4mm/0.1-0.2 inch), the female being larger than the male) red spiders who construct them. The Red grass spider is found in Mexico, the West Indies and the southeastern United States. Now, of course, the challenge will be for me to get a photo showing the topside of the spider. Check the *extra...for a Common Buckeye Butterfly, also seen at the DogPark this morning.
As those of you who will be celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow prepare, please be extra special careful. C & I will be celebrating safely at home and wishing all of our friends a Happy Thanksgiving! Be Well! :)
