Winter sunlight on the canal

The sun shone today - Hip! Hip! Hooray! I went out earlier than usual to conduct my peramulation along the towpath, past the golf course and through the oak woods. At the local shop, I joshed with the young man who served me, and wondered out loud how I'd done a whole walk without realising I didn't have my backpack. He gave me a big plastic bag instead.
