Sketchbook #04: The X Files versus Mars Attacks!

This sketch is by Charlie Adlard, now best known for drawing zombie comic The Walking Dead, which was adapted into a smash hit TV series. Back in the mid-to-late 1990s, Charlie was artist for another hit comic, The X Files, adapted from a smash hit TV series. Incredibly prolific, Charlie was also drawing comics based on Mars Attacks!, hence this mash-up. [Love the paper bag over Scully's head to prevent her from ever actually seeing an alien.] Going back even further to the early 1990s, I gave Charlie one of his first comics job illustrating Armitage for the Judge Dredd Megazine.
