Leaves (Day 2025)

After a trip to town this morning to check on stuff I had ordered, and to collect some bits, I dealt with a leaking toilet cistern. It had been incredibly badly fitted, despite having been fitted by a "plumber". Fitting it the correct way would have been a great deal easier, and taken far less time. Fitting the correct sealing washers in the correct places would have meant the original "plumber" wouldn't have needed to use quite so much silicone to try and seal things. I spent a while scraping silicone off everything, replacing a few bits and putting it all back together.
There was, as usual, a "while you are here job". The kitchen tap was dripping and, after a quick look, I suggested that a new tap would be the appropriate course of action. It was agreed that I would return later in the day with a new tap.
Home for lunch, I had a message from another customer who wanted a new kitchen tap. I zoomed into town and collect a couple of taps, then got a call from the customer this morning cancelling the tap fitting. Which is the second time they have cancelled the job. I suppose it is handy to have a spare in the van.
I got the other tap fitted, and there is a hint of more work to come in the future. We shall see.
Home to slob on the couch. I have caught a cold from my beautiful wife. Better that than Covid I suppose!
