Killearn Village Hall

... through a misty car window in the rain. I wonder if we'll ever get back to playing badminton there.

I was parked there opposite the vet's, having taken Minty to be seen following an accident while playing in the garden yesterday. He was chasing his ball at top speed when he suddenly stopped and yelped loudly for ages, obviously in severe pain. He recovered enough to come inside, with lots of sympathy from me, but wasn't interested in the 'medicinal' chewstick I offered and felt very sorry for himself all evening.

When I told P about the incident, she said Minty had yelped in pain when he'd been with her the day before, but she hadn't seen what had caused the yelp and presumed that Leo had caught him with a sharp claw. She asked me to take him to the vet.

It turns out he has damaged a ligament in his shoulder, so he's had an anti-inflammatory injection and has painkilling medication to take until he goes back next week for a check-up. Oh, and no ball games, no strenuous walks, just gentle strolls "for toileting purposes". Aye, right. Try telling that to The Mintster!

Bake-Off Final tonight - my money's on Peter!
