Herring Gull
Ferny Ness 15:49
A strange day as I left Mrs RCB "to do stuff" at the flat. Headed to the Slamannan plateau for the Taiga Bean Geese without any success, then had planned to head towards Cockenzie & Port Seton. But somehow didn't fancy it. So eventually ended up in the car park for Kinneil Lagoons, only to read the hide had been vandalised. The hide isn't exactly critical in the enjoyment of the lagoons, but somehow no longer fancied it. Anyway ended up at Cockenzie where I found a Red-necked Grebe and had a fly past by the Black Guillemot. At Cockenzie harbour a probable Black-throated Diver. On to Ferny Ness for another Red-necked Grebe and at least nine Slavonian Grebes. All these birds being fairly distant it was nice of the Herring Gull to come close for today's photo. Longshanks resorted to Sunrays over Cockenzie Power Station.
