Chaiyya Relaxing
She did much better than I did.
I was awake at just after 11 last night, fell asleep around 3 a.m., woke up again at 6am and just lay there feeling bone tired and not able to sleep.
Work was accordingly a little stressful. I'm trying to solve really tricky problems - or what appear to be tricky problems. 2 that I analysed to day turned out to be "Oh when we said it was ALWAYS like this, what we meant is it can also be like THIS sometimes."
I would be miles quicker fixing these cases by hand. I'm migrating roughly 70 000 things from 45 different projects and every one of those projects has their own set of "standards". None of which is really a standard more of an "it was how we thought at the time". And really if I can only find 5 one-line problems per project, I'm not going to spend 4 weeks coming up with a programming solution that I could fix manually in 5 minutes.
In other news, exactly 10 years ago I arrived in Germany as a new immigrant. And with an immigrant cat called Moot. It's been a big adventure. I wonder how many people thought I would last 10 years?
