LGK Asks: Where Is Dexter?

The weather is colder now, and the little gray kitty has been hanging around the house more. (Yes, he does already have a happy home with neighbors of ours.) However, his favorite visiting spot is the front porch, where he naps on a chair. But when he shows up there and nobody is out, sometimes he comes around the back of the house to the deck.

Our tabbycat Dexter died suddenly and unexpectedly in late October and we miss him like crazy. In the years before that, his favorite hangout was a box by the deck doors. He spent hours and hours sitting there looking out, but even MORE hours napping the day away.

LGK sometimes came to the deck doors when Dexter was sitting there, and while I think LGK sort of enjoyed their interactions, I am sorry to admit that Dexter was not a fan. That never stopped LGK. On this day, LGK ran and chased himself and hopped around and did silly things.

Then he came to the windows and put his pink paws up, as though asking, "Where is Dexter?" Well, that's the million-dollar question these days, isn't it. I'm sorry to tell you that Dexter has gone on to the Next Place, LGK, and one day we will meet him there. But not yet. . . .
