Husband And Wife Trees

I learned this year about the East Coast tradition of planting Husband and Wife trees in front yards. Couples planted separate trees near the entrance of the house, then over the years, they grew closer. These two apples were Howard and Helen when we moved in in 1987. Maybe they’re us now, but we’ll keep them known as Howard and Helen. Someone here on the West Coast adopted a good East Coast tradition.
