Sally Mair - Loving life

A fun guy

Yes I know I've used that joke many times before, but the old ones are the best!
Sunday today so off to church this morning, today is the feast of Christ the King which is the last Sunday of the church year. The new year starts next week with Advent Sunday, what a year it's been too, this Advent will be a real time of anticipation, expectation and hope, more than I think I will ever have known. Well, except for 1982 maybe, when Kathryn was due on the 23rd December, that was definitely a time of 3xpectation and hope too!

We went round to Ali's this afternoon to test out their new outdoor shelter which allows us to sit under a roof while in the garden, very impressive and nice to chat. Pickle watched from an upstairs windowsill, taking social distancing to the extreme! We decided two meters was fine!
I took advantage of two young appetites and knocked up some cheese scones and coconut pyramids to take round with us. I do like baking as I've said before but lack testers.

This funghi was on a tree stump, either a rowan or a cherry, not enough left to see which, the colours are just as it came out of the camera, quite spectacular. The fungus has been damaged, so I'm not sure what it is but it's a lovely splash of colour on an otherwise fairly dreich day.

We were back in the 70's for our dinner tonight, we had fish fingers and chips. OK, so they were M&S, taste the difference, extra jumbo, luxury fish fingers, with fresh M&S tartar sauce - and very nice they were too. The chips were of the oven variety. So much safer than a pan of boiling hot fat on the stove, no wonder there were so many accidents with chip pans. I think I've still got an electric deep fryer in the cupboard too, but we eat so little fried food by comparison these days, must get rid of our along with many other things one of these days.

We watched the second episode of Lethal White, we've left it too long since watching the first part though and as I'd already deleted that we spent a lot of time trying to work out what was going on, think we got there by the end. We'll know not to leave it too long till episode 3.

Keep safe everybody, I'm all ready for Christmas with two sparkly Christmas masks! I'm trying to decide which to wear next week, the gold or the silver, when, as chief angel, I deliver the good news to the 'bring your own tea towel' shepherds of our congregation for the local nativity video. There could be an interesting array of holiday souvenir head dresses!
