Bought by the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust they are there to restore, create and maintain the heathland which will help the flowers, birds and animals. They eat the brambles, gorse and coarse grasses plus tread down bracken which is a very natural way of maintaining the reserve.

I was after the great grey shrike but saw neither hide nor hair, or more appropriately, feather or beak of the one that was seen last week in this vicinity.
