A Sloe Walk

........ a nice long walk around the fields in the sunshine ;-)
The thermometer said 5 degrees when we left so we wrapped up well but as there was no wind it felt quite warm in the sun and we had to strip off some layers and carry it all :-/

I saw a large flock of yellowhammers having a bath in the puddles but unfortunately was too far away to get a good picture and I didn’t want to disturb them by trying to creep up on them, so we just enjoyed watching them instead ;-)

We picked some sloes because hubby wants to have a go at making sloe gin and I’ve never seen anyone so fussy about which sloes to pick ........... he assessed them as we went along and only decided which ones to pick after he had seen them all ....... I’m not sure what the criteria was but he seemed happy with what we found, so I hope his gin turns out ok ;-))
