I put the wildlife camera on the bird table to see what happened. The rooks and magpies stayed away...as did the collared doves who are usually first. The pigeons couldn't care less about the camera. Most small birds were quite happy but only one starling. When I took the camera away after a few hours the starlings and rooks came swooping in.
