LD 244 "Now the holly bears a berry...
...as blood it is red " goes the final verse of the Sans Day Carol (which is apparently based on a traditional Cornish song).
Driving back through Greenock and Gourock late on Thursday evening I counted 10 Christmas trees in house windows and in Sandbank, on this side of the Clyde there were Christmas lights in gardens too.
After this year, and with current regulations in place, it is more than understandable that people want something to look forward to and brighten the long dark evenings. So when I saw this today (and the holly trees having been cut back last year are still not producing nearly as many berries as they used to - see my blip five years ago today ) I thought it was not too soon to have a blip that also starts to look towards the festive season.
