Tonight we had another garden designer meeting in Edinburgh. Lisa - a town planner - came to talk to us all about the planning process and permitted development rights.

For anyone who's reading this it might sound like an odd way to choose to spend an evening of our free time. But that's the kind of nerdy thing we designers enjoy!

I thought subjecting you to a photo of us all gawping at a slide show of planning regulations might be a bad choice.

So here's one of the lovely church that we occasionally meet up in instead. Not only is it a beautiful building it's cheap to hire, cosy, has good chocolate biscuits. What's not to like...?
