Good performance from the Shots tonight saw us beat Torquay 1-0 with a great goal from Troy Brown. Sadly, Troy's goal celebrations included trying to mount the Phoenix (our mascot), during which act Troy damaged his leg and had to go off injured, leaving us with 10 men for the last 10 minutes.

One of the things I like about lower league football is that it's a lot more real that the crap in the Premiershit. Standing on the terraces tonight were Steve Stairs and Mark Butler, two of the complete legends of the Mighty Shots.

They both joined at the beginning of the new team in 1992 and formed a formidable striking partnership. Steve scored 75 goals for us between 1992 and 1995 and was player of the season in our second year. Mark is our all time highest goal scorer having scored 155 goals netween 1992 and 1998 and was player of the season in our first year.

How we could do with these two playing for us again! Complete legends, and two of the nicest Guys you could ever meet. They had a cracking time watching the football, and were completely at ease chatting with the fans celebrating an important win.
