A tale of two bridges
Pershore has two bridges : a “ traffic” bridge built in 1926 and this one , a multi span bridge which crosses the Avon and was apparently built by monks in the 1400s( although records of a crossing exist long before that). During the Second World War both bridges were deemed a strategic spot where German tanks could invade the Midlands , so these antitank cylinders were installed, and never removed. I met a friend down at the river for a walk , a very muddy walk. She has a cute new dog- a rescue Jug. As a side note both bridges flood regularly.
