Breaking the year into four
Because we so firmly break the year into four seasons it's sometimes hard to remember that in fact it's a constant churn. Here are the hazel catkins of early spring, all formed and complete, waiting for eight weeks or so until their unravelling which, for me at least, starts the growing year.
Appropriately enough I spied them when I was walking Hazel round the Green this morning and thought that texture and the pale colours so lovely I just had to bring a tiny sprig home.
Tomorrow I'm in London for an appointment at St Thomas' so I'll take my camera. But will there be anyone to photograph?
Have a great weekend xx
