Down Among the Grass Trees
Xanthorrhoea australis.
I've never seen these in such abundance.
They are extraordinary plants, several metres tall and sometimes living as long as 450 years.
The spikes are covered in flowers, see extra.
Apparently they can be easily grown from seed, but I fear I might only see a few inches in what's left of my life:)
It is most improbable that they would survive a move, and of course, they're protected.
