Housewives of Cheshire

Lockdown 2, day 15

We were up early this morning as mum had to take a ‘preparation’ solution at 6am, ready for today’s procedure. She didn’t have to be at the hospital until 1.30pm though, so after I’d had my breakfast I went to Waitrose and did her food shop. I also phoned Eurotunnel to cancel our trip to France at Christmas - this is the third time these tickets have had to be cancelled due to Covid, but unfortunately they’re non refundable. However, they agreed to give me a credit note which is valid for a year from the date of issue, and we don’t have to travel within that 12 months, but as long as we book, even if it’s for travel the year after, so we’re happy with that.

I dropped her at the hospital and then went to meet Audrey for a walk. She suggested we meet in Prestbury, which is a village where you will find the real housewives of Cheshire, including WAGS. A lot of the Man Utd players live around here and in fact Audrey saw Coleen Rooney the other day.

We walked through the village and did a short circuit in the Bollin Valley and then got a takeaway hot chocolate and a coffee and found a bench. At 3.30pm the hospital called to say that mum would be ready at 4.15pm, which was perfect timing as we were starting to get cold.

When I picked mum up, the good news was that everything went well, and she’s as bright as a button, you wouldn’t think she’d been sedated! I was quite surprised at Macclesfield Hospital not Covid testing patients being admitted into the ward which is a bit of a concern particularly as mum is 85. I made sure she wore her mask, and I wore my visor as well as a mask while I dropped her off and collected her again!

Anyway it’s a relaxing night for us, followed by an early night - after I’m a Celebrity of course!
