Sundown Ramble with a Bramble

There was a delightful break in the clouds this afternoon, and by chance - ok, with some foresight and a remarkable and unusual coming together of the weather and the BBC forecast thereof - we took a trip out to Westonbirt.

The Sun was very low in the sky, and in the old pine plantation off to the side where nobody roams but us the golden red light dappled between the tall upright trees. At the foot of one was this bramble.

The light really was this intense, and the shadows as defined. An odd picture, but I like it. In case you don't there's an extra of the amazing Larch plantation and the low Sun striking the yellowed foliage. I really like this one too.
