Hurley

A 180 mile round trip to visit my father for 15 minutes in his prison care home. The visit was behind a thick perspex screen which, since he is almost completely deaf, meant he couldn't hear me anyway. It was rather distressing and pointless. Stopped on the way home at Hurley to give the spaniel a quick six mile walk along the Thames, which did nothing to cheer me up.
