First snow (Day 2020)
Overnight gales eased a little this morning, but the wind was bitterly cold and, as I headed across to Stromness, there were showers of hail and sleet. Hoy wore a dusting of snow as I arrived at the yard to give my beautiful wife a hand to load Paddy in the horse trailer. With that done, I headed for the vacant field where George and Paddy had been grazing, and got the caravan (mobile hoss stuff shed) ready to be moved by S with the tractor.
I headed home and unloaded the van, then made my way to town to collect pellets for our boiler. Back home to unload them again, then a really quick lunch before another trip to Stromness to sort a problem with the loo I fitted yesterday. I expected there to be at least one problem with the stuff the customer had bought from a large, well known online retailer. I have found that the stuff is generally poor quality and I generally decline to fit it. I haven't pointed out to them that the spout on the basin mixer tap is both twisted and squint.
Problem solved, I met up with HV at the winter parking for the caravan and made it secure-ish.
Home to collect Mr T for his appointment with the vet to have his stitches removed.
It seems to have been a fairly busy day.
