18!

First grandson Niklas is turning 18 tomorrow!  We needed a birthday photo and just plain wanted to SEE him (and of course Cocoa! :-)) so went over in spite of the weather (it started to rain right after we got there) for a 20 minute distanced visit in their spectacular red yard.  Something is better than nothing.  Caught him at the end of a 3 hour calculus test online.

You can see what he really looks like in the EXTRA (do look at the extra -the photos are sharper) center but I thought this was a proper covid birthday portrait that will be memorable for 2020.   Son Eric took the extra bottom right Cocoa pix with his new phone and I thot the 3 of them kicking leaves was funny.    The first college application is in,  a few more to go.  Hard to believe.   Applying to college seems more streamlined than it used to be.   But hard to go visit any.  Sigh.  After this long year at home, he’ll be more than ready to go somewhere!  (I can remember 18 yo boys…..)   Hope he celebrates somehow on the weekend…
