Gangnam Style

Arwen had her third set of immunisations this morning. Because Ophelia is due her preschool boosters in a few weeks' time, and a friend's daughter also had her jabs today, we took turns babysitting each others' kids whilst we took the little ones into the doctors' surgery. Don't want to worry the older ones! The others had a good hour or so playing together in the meantime.
Next there was a quick trip to the village shops for cooking ingredients, and to see Hubby at work, then it was back home to do a bit of cooking and baking. Arwen slept a good two hours post imms, so I was able to make a batch of Nigella's extremely decadent 'sweet and salty crunchie nut' tray bake:

- melt together 3tbsp golden syrup, 125g butter and 300g dairy milk chocolate.
- mix 250g salted peanuts with 4 broken up crunchie bars
- bung the lot together then tip into a tray and press down hard.
- I also add an extra layer of chocolate on top.
- Leave to chill and set for a few hours in the fridge
- Indulge!

Also prepared another Nigella classic - triple cheese and onion strata - ready for tea.
This afternoon we were visited by my colleague and fellow Blipper ASDays and her two fab kids. Our families have only met up a few times as weekends are always full of dance and sports classes for us and they live a good hour away, but the kids always get on very well and today was no exception. They played in the house and then we trooped to the park for a while, along with our next door neighbour's little lad.
Later on Grace's best friend and her family came over for a play date and for tea ( the strata mentioned earlier with sausages and beans: real, proper comfort food!! ).My friend brought some biccies and iced buns for the kids' pudding and they also scoffed jelly and ice cream, whilst the adults indulged in the Nigella squares.
After tea the sugar rush hit and there was a manic, mass Gangnam Style dance off in the kitchen. Arwen was well into it, as was our guests' 13 month old boy who bopped away to the song.
The girls are worn out this evening, as am I, but they're having a late night to give them time to play together before their bath. Arwen is a bit unsettled so it could be another long night ahead...
