Just Strolling
Lovely walk in the sunshine with my daughter and Frankie dog his morning. I very much enjoyed our socially distanced gossip.
Our dogs had fun playing together and meeting other dogs. Shame for this dachshund. It was barking like mad from a pushchair. The poor thing is recovering from back surgery. These characterful little hounds were bred in Germany to flush badgers. Unfortunately their very long spines and short rib cages mean that they're prone to spinal problems, particularly intervertebral disc disease (IVDD).
The sign on the pushchair, I think they're known as strollers in the US, made me think of the Flanagan and Allen song which turns out to have quite appropriate lyrics in the second verse.
Strolling, just strolling,
In the cool of the evening air,
Ev'ry man and his dog keeps on walking for miles
And we don't care who tramps most,
But they can never pass one lamp post,
When they're strolling, just strolling,
In the light of the moon above
Though we might think we're good planners,
But the blighters won't learn manners,
Though they're strolling with the ones they love.
