Locked out!
I arrived to the yard to find Kev trying to break into the rug room, as it’s called. It houses much more than just rugs, most of the owners ‘stuff’ is kept upstairs, except the tack, which is locked safely in a container. Most importantly for me, is that my wellies, waterproofs and coffee break necessities are in there!
Rather than hang around like a bad smell, I got on with swapping rugs and when Kev still hadn’t succeeded in getting in, I took the horses out in my ankle boots, skirting the worst of the mud as best as I could.
As it’s so warm for this time of year, I’ve tended to switch back into my short boots anyway, otherwise I melt in my long ones! This is lucky, as it took almost an hour for Kev to get the door open! In the end he had to unscrew the metal sheet encasing the door frame to get the lock out!
Then after we’d finished, later in the day, Clare had to go to a hardware store to get a new lock ... meanwhile, what you see in my Blip, is exactly how Kev left things, and no, I wasn’t even slightly tempted to tidy things up!
