Green shoots

Another dry morning allowed more remedial work to be done in the garden; there always seems to be an area that was neglected and has become a wilderness of nettles and brambles.  Lunch-time rain put an end to this work and encouraged me to take out the macro lens to report on the indoor "gardening".
The new Hippeastrum (Amaryllis) bulbs are showing signs of growing; the larger shoot here is about 1 cm.  Will they flower by Christmas?  It really doesn't matter, they will be welcome at any time.
